January sees Brian share with us some of his considerable knowledge and experience of Maple species and their cultivation as bonsai. On the agenda were the various species of Acer and their pros and cons as bonsai, some due to their growth habit and leaf size render them poor subjects for bonsai. Brian went on to discuss techniques for propagation, the repotting process and how and why we do it. We ended the meeting with a check on the progress of two root over rock trident maples which have started to grasp their rocks nicely. As always, many thanks to Brian for his time and for getting the year off to a start.
